Representing St. Clare’s Comprehensive School in Manorhamilton, Sarah finished a magnificent 6th overall in Sunday’s All Ireland Schools Combined Events Competition in Athlone. Sarah improved on her Connacht winning total adding nearly 100 extra points to her total.
Sarah started strongly finishing 6th in the 60M hurdles. Competing in only her second ever high jump, and not at her best in the long jump she lost ground on the leaders. But not to be deterred she put in a super long shot put to close the gap on the leaders. In the final event, she put in a great performance finishing 1st in the 800M by over 15 seconds to climb up the table and take 6th over all, just outside the medal positions.
She will be delighted with the result and have lots of room for improvement and will have a great chance to win or medal in next years competition.
