During the mid term break TY students Cara Keegan, Mia Connolly and Cadhla Moffitt traveled to both abattoirs ABP, Clones, Co. Monaghan and Kepak, Athleague, Co. Roscommon where they were given a whole factory tour of the line of production of cattle from slaughtering to packaging. The girls discussed key marketing and sustainability issues with staff from both factories while also exploring further their idea of using seaweed to reduce methane emissions.
The girls will contend in the final round of the competition in Croke Park on Friday the 7th of March.
