Councillor James Gilmartin recently visited our TY students to give an informative talk on how Leitrim County Council operates. He explained the structure and role of the council and outlined the day-to-day responsibilities of a local councillor. Councillor Gilmartin also spoke about his own experiences in public service and the importance of community involvement. The visit concluded with a question-and-answer session, where students had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion. Our current Transition year students are completing a module of democracy and the European union. Thank you Ms Cremins and Ms Doherty for facilitating the event.
