AG Science Trip

Our 5th year Agricultural Science class of 42 students travelled to Ballyhaise Agricultural College Cavan accompanied by Mr. Gilmartin and Ms. Geoghegan for the annual AgriAware farm walk and talk ran by Teagasc. The students attended 7 different stations of dairy, beef, sheep, slurry spreading, fertiliser, grassland and farm safety where they talked to Teagasc advisors and teachers about the running of each sector.

Students had the opportunity to attempt to lamb a model ewe along with holding lambs and looking at protected urea and how I identify it. They stepped down into a dairy parlour and were talked through the process of milking a dairy cow.

Jack Attard and Ronan Fox were interviewed by AgriAware about their experience on the day.

A great day had by all.
