In an impressive display of skill and determination, the u14 ladies team secured a dominant victory over Coláiste Iognaid Galway in the Connacht Quater final with a final score of 9-09 to 3-08 at the Connacht Centre of Excellence. The team’s performance was a well-rounded effort.
Lily Fergerson, Sophie Devaney, Aoife Boylan, and Ella McEnroy were clinical in front of goal, with each of them contributing vital scores to the team’s tally. They consistently broke down the opposition’s defense and finished with precision.
At the heart of the defense, Dervla McLaughlin was a rock at full-back, making crucial interceptions and tackles to thwart Coláiste Iognaid’s attacking efforts. Molly Gilligan also showed exceptional leadership in the centre-back position, organizing the defence.
Ceola Kelly and Isabella Moffit controlled the midfield with relentless energy, linking defense to attack and providing crucial support on both ends of the pitch.
This victory was a testament to the team’s work ethic and talent along with team spirt.
The girls will play in a Connacht semi final in Boyle in the coming weeks with the team to be confirmed.
