World Happiness Day in St Clare’s

On Thursday, April 3rd, St. Clare’s Comprehensive celebrated its own World Happiness Day. A group of Transition Year students, along with their teachers, Ms. Faughnan and Ms. Houston, organised a day focused on promoting positive thinking and fostering genuine happiness among both staff and students. Every student received a compliment, and in turn, was encouraged to share a kind word with someone else. Additionally, each staff member received a small letter highlighting their best attributes.

The staff room was filled with delicious food during break, allowing teachers to indulge in some healthy treats. The Transition Year students also created and shared a video across all classes, addressing mental health issues and emphasising the message that “you are not alone” and completed a dance with whole-school involvement to the song ‘Happy.’

At lunch, an ice cream van arrived on site, offering students the opportunity to enjoy a sweet treat on a beautiful sunny day. There was also face painting, with students getting yellow dandelions painted on their faces to show their support. The class chose the dandelion as their symbol of happiness as with its vibrant yellow and ability to grow everywhere they felt it was just right for their day.

It was a truly joyful day and the entire school came together to support this wonderful initiative.
