Head Boy and Head Girl in St Clare’s Comprehensive School 2025

In St Clare’s Comprehensive School we promote leadership in our students through our student leadership team. Students were nominated by their peers and spoke infront of their year group and teachers. The nominees were Jack Attard, Annabeth Drohan, Luke Farrell, James Hughes, Padraíg Toner, Ava McManus, Nóra Smith and Anna Sweeney. After a lengthy campaign our Head Boy and Head Boy for 2025 have been chosen. We would like to introduce them to you.

Head Boy: My name is James Hughes and I was recently nominated as head boy. I attended St. Clare’s Primary School.I joined this school in 2020. In junior cert I did Tech Graphics, Spanish and Home Ec.. Through the help of the dedicated teachers here I achieved many good grades in my junior certificate. I enjoy playing football and I am a part of the school football teams. I was also a part of the All-Ireland winning team last year. The subjects I picked for Leaving Cert are Business, Biology, Spanish and Geography. This school offers a wide range of subjects and has many great facilities. Through my time at this school I have matured and grown as a person. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in St. Clare’s Comprehensive so far.

Head Girl: My name is Anna Sweeney and I’m very grateful to be this year’s head girl. I am a past pupil of Drumlease NS and I’m currently a Leaving cert student in St. Clares. I’m studying 8 subjects for my Leaving Cert, English, Irish, Maths, Spanish, Construction, Home Ec., Biology and LCVP. As I really enjoyed Spanish, Home Ec and Woodwork during my junior cycle, especially the practical part, I decided to study them for my Leaving cert.Gaelic football is a big part of my life, I’m part of the senior girls gaelic squad in the school as well as playing for my local club, Naomh Padraig Dromahair. I’m looking forward to my year ahead as head girl representing the student body and working with the students in the school, the teachers, prefects and the head boy to make this school year as enjoyable as possible.
