The Leaving Certificate Agricultural Science students took part in a Young Persons Farm Safety Programme today ran by Farm Relief Services and the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marie.
The course covered all major farm risks including livestock, tractors, machinery, slurry, loading bales, working at heights, chemicals, and open tanks.
The webinar was specifically designed for post-primary students, with a focus on:
-Raising awareness around farm safety risks for young people
-Encouraging responsible behaviour in and around the farm
-Highlighting real-life examples and practical safety tips
