On Tuesday, our 1st year students enjoyed a fun afternoon at the BinIt! Roadshow.
This award-winning, interactive workshop tackles the anti-social and environmental issues surrounding littering. Through energetic activities and clever demonstrations, BinIt! enabled the students explore what litter is
and why people litter. They outlined the damage it causes to our environment, and the importance of disposing of rubbish correctly – especially chewing gum.
Our students were fully engaged from start to finish, asking lots of interesting questions!
In CSPE strand 2, the learning outcomes focus on sustainability, global footprint, the importance of reducing litter, and our collective responsibility to care for the environment. Students were surprised to learn that littering, including gum litter can result in an on-the-spot fine of €150.
A big thank you to the BinIt! team for such an informative and enjoyable workshop. Special thanks to our CSPE teachers, Ms. Carden and Ms. Houston, for organising the event.
