1st and 2nd Year Sligo – Leitrim GAA Blitz

Our 1st and 2nd Year girls travelled to Riverstown yesterday to take part in the Sligo-Leitrim GAA blitz, fielding three very strong teams across the competition. All three teams performed exceptionally well and represented the school with great pride and determination throughout the day.

Our third team put in a fantastic display, showing great skill and teamwork in all of their matches. They were unlucky to just miss out on a place in the semi-finals, but their effort and commitment could not be faulted.

The second team also had a very successful day, progressing to the Shield semi-final. In a tightly contested game, they narrowly lost out to Coola PPS, but they can be very proud of their performances and the resilience they showed.

Our first team had an outstanding tournament, winning all of their matches on the way to the Cup final. They delivered a superb performance in the final against Coláiste Easkey, securing a well-deserved victory to take home the Cup and be crowned overall winners on the day.

All of the girls showed excellent teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the blitz. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day for everyone involved, and a fantastic achievement to bring the Cup back home.

Well done to all the girls on a brilliant day’s football!
