Almost 100 Transition Year and 5th Year students had the opportunity to attend Career Fest as part of their Guidance and LCVP classes. The event, organised by the local branch of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors – of which our Guidance Counsellors are members – in conjunction with ATU Sligo, took place on 6th May.
Students explored a wide range of pathways, with the event providing valuable insights into college courses, apprenticeships, further education and training, and various career options through interactive talks and demonstrations.
Approximately 40 guest speakers and 46 exhibitors from a variety of higher education institutions and organisations were available for students to engage with. Students also enjoyed experiencing student life through a tour of the university and lunch in the canteen.
It was a highly engaging and informative day, helping students to think more clearly about their career pathways after school.
Thank you to Ms Carden, Ms Fahey, Ms Carty, Ms Houston, and Ms Anderson for accompanying the students.
