Junior Boys GAA

Our Junior Gaelic footballers produced a spirited performance in the Connacht semifinal, overcoming their Athenry opponents by four points to secure a coveted place in the provincial final in two weeks’ time.

The game was a tense affair, with scores hard-earned against a determined opposition. St. Clare’s attacking line showed composure under pressure, with Colm McLoughlin, Senen Kelly, Daniel McLoughlin, and Patrick Nolan all registering fine points. The decisive moment came late in the contest when Cian Boylan struck an insurance score to ensure victory and calm any nerves on the sideline.

Equally impressive was the defensive display. Facing a team renowned for finding the net, St. Clare’s backline stood firm, restricting their rivals to points only and keeping them goalless throughout the match. It was a disciplined, collective effort that underpinned the win.

The team now awaits confirmation of their final opponents, who will emerge from next week’s semifinal. Regardless of who we face, the players can take confidence from this resilient showing as they prepare for the Connacht Final in two weeks’ time.

Congratulations to the players and management. With momentum on their side, anticipation builds for what promises to be a memorable provincial decider.
